Hexgears E001 Wireless Review

Welcome to our Hexgears E001 Wireless Review. Let’s get straight to the point. The HEXGEARS E001 Bluetooth In-Ear Headphones are really really good. They’re not world beaters but they’re damn close.

Hexgears 001 Wireless Review

The E001’s use (according to their spec) Aerospace-Grade Titanium Composite Dynamic Drivers to create a simply awesome sound quality.

They also feature NRT which is Noise Reduction Technology to me and you. This means that they are able to filter out most of the surrounding environmental noise such as wind, passing cars and low background noise.

This is vital if you’re using the headphones for calls, which we did, you can read more on the call quality below.

We couldn’t find the headphones available to buy any where in the UK but you can buy them from AliExpress for around $20 USD.

The Hexgears E001 pump out excellent sound quality. It’s almost an overused phrase in reviews but they really do give you an immersive listening experience. They’re really impressive at first listen.

Let’s take a closer look at what you get in the Hexgears 001 Wireless box, read on below.

What’s In The Box? – Hexgears E001 Wireless Review

We’ve said it countless times on the blog. But, we love a company that takes care of their packaging. Hexgears are no exception. They’ve done a great job with the box and internal plastic packaging. The box is sturdy and the print is of good quality, no complaints here.

Inside the box, you get the headset, spare ear tips and a micro USB charging cable. There’s no USB-C capability here so don’t expect fast charge. It should take a little over 2 hours to get a full charge. Not too bad but could be better considering the battery is only 90mAh.

The charging cable is a little bit longer than other headphones we’ve tested, it’s a nice touch as if you only have a spare USB slot at the back of your PC it can get a bit awkward trying to retrieve the headphones from the back of the computer.

The Hexgears 001 have great packaging!

How’s The Sound? – Hexgears E001 Wireless Review

The mids and high range sounds are crisp and the clarity is fantastic. The low range is well balanced but I found the bass slightly flat and not as punchy as something like the Edifier TWS1’s. It’s not a deal breaker though as the drivers still deliver a decent bass sound.

The treble however is perfectly tuned and sounded great on songs with lots of hi-hats etc.

Features and Build Quality

One of the best features on the E001’s is the magnet pause. It’s similar to the AirPods pause feature in some ways. The magnet pause feature works like this. Once you take them out of your ears and clip them together the song will pause, a great feature in our opinion.

They don’t seem too strong so make sure you don’t treat them harshly!

Bluetooth connection was straight forward and a real breeze to set up. All you need to do is hold the power button until the red and blue lights flash. This set’s the device to pairing mode.

Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity makes for a really strong and stable connection to whichever device you pair with.

The battery lasts ages which is quite impressive when you think just how small it is (90mAh). The way these headphones use their battery power is really efficient. The official figure is 7 hours playback but I managed to squeeze nearly 10 hours out of it from a single charge.

The bluetooth range is another plus point on these headphones. You can walk away from the playback source without the fear of them disconnecting. You can get just under 25 ft away before music playback ceases.

Hexgears E001 Wireless Review

These wireless headphones can also be used for making and taking calls. The call quality is great, I was able to hear and be heard and comparing with a generic headphone you could really tell the difference with the background noise reduction technology. Again, no complaints!

The buttons worked well and I was able to answer and hang up the call with ease.

Overall the Hexgears E001 headphones are a great product. They are extremely light, comfortable and sound fantastic. My only worry is that they’ll suffer from damage in harsh use cases due to them being so lightweight.

Score: 8/10
