Project CARS 2
Available: April 1st to 30th
Platform: Xbox One
Race using over 180 epic racing cars. All vehicles are available for your choosing. You can compete on a wide variety of surfaces including ice, dirt, and mud.
Project CARS 2 features a unique dynamic weather physics engine, true to life car handling and loads of different game modes.

Fable Anniversary
Available: April 1st – May 15th
Platform: Xbox One
The legendary Fable. Completely remastered. What’s not to love.
Fable is an RPG for pretty Xbox, PC and Mac.
Playing Fable you’ll assume the role of an young boy, orphaned and is then forced into the hero life when savage criminals attack his village. After his parents get murdered and his sister is kidnapped you’ll need to fight to get her back and avenge your parents death.
We’re really please to see it come to Xbox Games with Gold! And we hope you’ll enjoy reminiscing about this absolute classic. The classic phrase is thrown about far to often in the gaming world but with Fable it’s fully warranted.
Knights of Pen and Paper Bundle
Available: April 16th to May 15th
Platform: Xbox One
The award winning game Knights of Pen and Paper is a retro style turn-based game.
You’ll need to take part in a grand adventure, enjoy the retro pixel-art that inspired some awesome gaming titles back in the day.
From Steam: “Take on the roles of in-game players taking on the roles of their characters in a traditional pen and paper RPG session in the ultimate meta roleplaying experience.”

Toybox Turbos
Toybox Turbos is a game where you can collect over 30 cars. You’ll need to customise them in order to get an advantage driving around nearly 20 crazy tracks.
It’s a reboot of the classic table top racing game. There are six gaming modes and power-ups. The perfect family game during this social distancing / lock down scenario!
For the competitive player in the family, just put the controller down and step away. This game is super addictive.

XBOX Gold Membership or Xbox Games Pass
You’ll need an active Xbox Live Gold membership or Xbox Game Pass which comes with Gold membership in order to download the free games with gold in April.
This will cost £7.99 or around $14.00 dollars. It’s a bit steeper for USA gamers. With your membership you’ll get access to a free multiplayer server, free games, discounted games and more.
When did XBOX Games with Gold start?
Games with Gold started in July 2013. It’s a program where games are offered for free as long as you are a Gold subscriber. Games with Gold started for the Xbox 360 all the way back in July 2013.
Xbox One games were added to the gold program almost a year later in June of 2014.

According to XBOX.COM – Game Pass subscriptions are available for use on Xbox One and PC. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate works on both console and PC, and also comes with Xbox Live Gold membership. An active Game Pass subscription is required to play games.
It’s all down to opinion, out of the 5 people that work on CodeWithMike, it was pretty much split down the middle. If you are lucky enough to own both consoles then it makes sense to subscribe to both services if funds allow.
