If you are a regular Fortnite player, the week 10 challenge involves finding the Heart Lake. Having started on October 29, this is one of the challenges on Fortnite Chapter 2 season 4, which is coming to an end. In this new challenge, players will be expected to pack their fishing rods and catch fish in Heart Lake in Fortnite.
While this task might seem straightforward, some fans might need to know where exactly they can find this location. Here’s how.
How Do You Find Heart Lake?
Heart Lake is a landmark in Upstate New York, home to other week 10 challenges. The lake is surrounded by a few houses and is part of the giant Stark Industries located in the northern part of the map.
This location is easily identifiable because it’s at the center of Fortnite island. In addition, it’s where Tony Stark’s secret laboratory and lakehouse are located.
Although Steamy Stacks is close to the lake on one side, there is no direct route from there to the lake. Therefore, to access it, you’ll need to either ride a zipline, build up to it, or find a location further along where there’s leveled ground.
Shaped like a human heart, this is the largest lake in the circular upstate New York location that players need to find to complete the challenge. Since it’s a point of interest on the map, players have to find the location quickly before it gets busy and grab a few weapons.
Once at the lake, players need to get a fishing rod, commonly found near water bodies. In this challenge, you’ll get a fishing rod next to the Heart Lake itself. Using the bait, you can catch fish and complete the challenge.
How To Catch Fish At Heart Lake
After you get on Heart Lake, how do you catch the fish? Here are a few tips.
At the lake, you should make your way to one of the docks that are around its perimeter and retrieve a barrel full of fishing rods. You should then grab a rod and find a suitable fishing spot around the circular Heart Lake.
To make it easier to fish, you can use boats that come in handy when searching for fishing spots. You can find these water vessels near the docks at Heart Lake.
When searching, you need to keep in mind that there are plenty of lake houses around the lake with jetties on the water. Additionally, when choosing a fishing spot, look for a circle of disturbance and then cast your bait from there.
Apart from fish, you could pull out mats or rusty cans. Therefore, to avoid this, ensure that you fish in the fishing spots.
If you are still struggling, here’s a step-by-step process of how to fish on Fortnite.
- Choose a fishing spot.
- Equip the fishing rod with bait.
- Hold the action button and position your rod at the angle of your cast.
- Once the button is at the center of the fishing spot, let it go,
- Throw in the line.
- Be patient and wait for the fish to bite.
- After you catch your fish, reel in the catch.
How Do You Complete The Challenge?
To complete the challenge, you need to catch fish. Since other players are also rushing to the lake to complete this challenge, you need to look out not to be caught off guard by enemies when fishing.
When fishing, the weapons that are caught in the bait will not count on this Fortnite Season 4 Week 10 challenge. Therefore, when this happens, it might take much longer to complete the task for some players.
If you are patient, you should have fewer problems completing the challenge, which will earn you 25,000 XP for your troubles.
Why Is This Challenge Special?
This challenge is among the Fortnite Week 10 challenges. It could be the last weekly challenge of Chapter 2, Season 4. Although there’s no official communication about the end of season 4, players are speculating that this could be its final moments of the widely acclaimed season 4.
According to Fortnite players, the final event might see the arrival of the massive boss Galactus or another supervillain on Fortnite island. This possibility is causing excitement among players. Completing these Fortnite Week 10 challenges is the best alternative for the players that are yet to complete the battle pass yet.
What Are Other Challenges In Week 10?
Apart from the fishing challenge on Heart Lake, there are other upcoming challenges on Fortnite’s Upstate New York this week. This one involves searching Chests.
For players, this is an opportunity to double up on challenges and earn a lot more XP during Week 10. If you are having difficulty getting through Fortnite’s Season 4 Battle Pass, this challenge is an easy way to get XP.

- Elimination at Lazy Lake, where players must score three eliminations.
