What games are coming to Xbox Game Pass in December 2021?

I can’t believe I’m discussing the games that are coming to Xbox Game Pass in December 2021 already! But, luck would have it I stumbled across some games that are coming as a part of day one releases. Last month was fantastic, some absolute power house games were made available to game pass members. Here’s hoping December is just as good, if not better.

It’s the holiday season which means I’m hoping, well expecting a shed load of AAA rated titles to be announced. We’ve already got word of two fantastic titles and it’s only a matter of time until we get the news of more being added. I’ll cover all of the titles below aswell as our top picks of games we’d love to see.

The line up is headlined by the release of Halo Infinite this will also come with a few bonus perks for the free-to-play multiplayer offering. Aswell as Halo Infinite, we’re aware of a couple of indie games coming to the service.

So, kick back, relax and read on below for details on all of the games that are coming to Xbox Game Pass this holiday season. We’ll cover games that are coming to console, PC, and Cloud for one last time in 2021.

Xbox Game Pass in December 2021

This month I’m super excited to get to grips with a new Halo game. It’s been optimised for the Xbox Series S and X so if you’ve got a new gen console you’re in luck, it’s meant to be absolutely stunning on the latest hardware. There’s also a snowboarding game called Shredders coming at some point in December, although we’re yet to get a data for it’s release.

Here’s what games are confirmed to be coming to game pass in December 2021:

  • Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector (Console, PC) – December 2
  • Halo Infinite – December 8th (Console, PC, Cloud)
  • Shredders – December 11th (Console, PC, Cloud)
  • Among Us – December 14th (Console)
  • The Gunk – December 18th (Console, PC, Cloud)

So we have four confirmed games so far but worry not. As usual, more games will be announced in the first week of December, so stay tuned, we’ll update the article as the news filters through.

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector (December 2nd)

I’m glad to see a turn based fantasy game such as Warhammer come to Game Pass this December. It’s a great RPG and a proper classic. Here’s the plot synopsis:

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. Experience every bone-rattling explosion and soul-crushing charge in Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, the definitve battle-scale game of turn-based strategy and fast-paced combat that takes you to the battlefields of the 41st Millenium.

Halo Infinite (December 8th)

Halo Infinite is coming to Xbox Game Pass in December 2021.
Halo Infinite is coming to Xbox Game Pass in December 2021.

The source I had suggested it’d come out via day one release on November 25th, so they were almost right. But now it’s been confirmed by Xbox that it’ll be coming to game pass in December.

It’ll be launched ahead of the holiday season. We all know huge game franchises launch during this time of the year so it makes sense that Halo Infinite would aswell, via day one of course. I’m really glad it’s being made available to game pass members via day one just in time for Christmas.

Game Pass makes the perfect Christmas gift, it’s inexpensive and is also an extremely convenient way to give your loved ones a gift.

The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite – the next chapter of the legendary franchise. When all hope is lost and humanity’s fate hangs in the balance, the Master Chief is ready to confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced. Step inside the armor of humanity’s greatest hero to experience an epic adventure and explore the massive scale of the Halo ring.

Shredders is bringing snowboarding games back to the forefront.

Another game coming to Xbox Game Pass this December via day one release. Shredders is a fantastic looking snowboarding adventure game and I can’t wait to shred those slopes!

One of the best things about the game is that it’s basically a large multiplayer game. Almost every other character you’ll see out on the mountain slopes is a real player. You’ll be able to pull of some gnarly tricks together and share the moments with your friends or you can go it alone. The choice is yours, but to wet your appetite further here’s the plot synopsis.

Shredders is a snowboarding game inspired by the classic Amped series, and snowboarding movies. Co-developed by I-Illusions, and Let It Roll, the game looks to be somewhere in the middle between arcade and simulation, with power-ups and an emphasis on pulling off stylish tricks.

The game’s open world includes natural environments, as well as urban parks. Shredders is also a multiplayer game, and all the other riders in the trailer represent actual players you could run into.

Among Us

Among Us is coming to game pass this December!
Among Us is coming to game pass this December!

This teamwork and betrayal multiplayer shot to fame quite quickly. It’s inspired a whole host of games with similar game play attributes. It’s pretty much a sub-genre it’s self now. Whilst Among Us may have been the first, it’s unfortunatley not the best.

It’s rivals are far better supported and quite probably better to play. Never the less, it’s a decent game and by bringing it to game pass in December, I guess Xbox are hoping it will start it’s rise in popularity all over again. Here’s more of the blurb:

Join your crew mates in a multiplayer game of teamwork and betrayal! Play with 4-15 player online as you attempt to prepare your spaceship for departure, but beware as one or more random players among the crew are Impostors bent on killing everyone!

The Gunk

Coming to game pass just a few short weeks after it’s release. The Gunk looks set to be a great game and I can’t wait to play it.

Embark on all-new adventure in a vast and exotic world where you’ll encounter terrifying enemies and challenging puzzles on your quest to unravel the mystery of a forgotten planet, while saving it in the process.

Games Being Removed From Game Pass In December 2021

Microsoft hasn’t announced the list of games that’ll be removed in December yet. We don’t even have any rumours at this point. As soon as the games that’ll be removed are announced we’ll update the article here. We can expect around at least half a dozen games to be removed over the course of the coming month.

Don’t Know If You Should Get Game Pass?

Game Pass is really great value in my opinion. It’s the largest gaming subscription you can get and for the price of buying a couple of games you’ll get a full year of Game Pass membership.

Do you see yourself playing those few games that you buy for a whole year? Probably not, you’ll more than likely become bored of those games in a few months. If you buy an Xbox Game Pass subscription you’ll get to play all of the games that you’re interested in and try hundreds of others that you may not have wanted to play at full price.

If you think of it as a trial. If you’re unsure weather you want to buy a game or not, get a years game pass subscription and once you’re done with the game in 1 or 2 months, you’ve got the rest of the year to play as many games as you want! It’s almost as if once you’re bored of one game you’ve got another 10 months of free games to play with.
