The Last Of Us (Remastered)
When half of the world got infected by a devastating virus, Joe Miller puts himself on a mission to discover the cure and save the world.
Alongside him, there is Ellie, a girl who is surprisingly immune to the virus. Together, they go on a journey to find the source of Ellie’s immunity while surviving against the infected — and people as well.
TLOU Remastered is a Naughty Dog production, known worldwide and released in June 2014, exclusively for PS4. The game itself quickly became a phenomenon and a “critic’s favorite” winning a total of 139 awards out of 198 nominations, and was elected “Game of the Year” in 2020 by TGA.
God Of War
After having revenge against the gods of the Olympus, Kratos carries on living with his son Atreus in the land of Midgard, both of them on a journey to tend to Faye’s (Kratos’ second wife and mother to Atreus, currently deceased) final wish.
Her last wish consisted in having her ashes sprayed on top of the highest point out of the nine kingdoms, which was revealed by a prisoner named Mímir to be a mountain located in Jotunheim, the kingdom of the giants.
But the path to the kingdom has been blocked in order to separate Odin and Thor. Kratos, however, discovers a portal that can lead them to Jotunheim, but he will have to search for specific components to be able to open it.
“God Of War” is a Santa Monica Studios production, released exclusively for PS4 in April 2018. The 2018 version is the eighth released and the eighth in chronological order, following the God Of War III (the previous game) events.
The game has been completely remastered, with rebuilt gameplay, better visuals, and a game camera.
It was also considered to be a critic’s favorite and worldwide success. “God Of War” is a best-selling game, is one of the highest-rated PS4 games according to Metacritic, and has won Game of the Year and Best Game by D.I.C.E, BAFTA, and many other media outlets and award shows.
Final Fantasy XV
Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto are heading to Altissia in Accordo, where Noctis is to marry Lunafreya when they receive news of an attack by Niflheim against Lucis, the stolen crystal, and the assassination of Regis.
Marshal Cor Leonis then gives Noctis a mission: to find the Royal Weapons from previous kings of Lucis, take back the crystal and recover the throne.
The game is a Square Enix production, and it was well-received by critics when released and, of course, a worldwide success. It won countless awards and got nominated repeatedly to RPG categories.
Detroit: Become Human
Kara, Markus, and Connor are androids with distinctive objectives. Kara is an AX400 model android originally made for domestic activities. After being repaired, she came home to her owner Todd Williams and his daughter Alice, who she took away to start a new life together away from her father due to his aggressive and unstable temper.
Markus is an RK200 model android determined to conduct an army of divergents (androids) after being mistreated and thrown away by his ex-owner’s son.
And Connor is an RK800 model (a more recent model) android who used to assist in investigations and is now partner to Tenant Hank Anderson from the Detroit Police Department, having to investigate the cause of the divergence between humans and androids while being confronted with the decision to go against the operation and humans, or his own kind.
The game is a Quantic Dream production from May 2018 and the studio’s best-seller so far.
It was generally well-received by critics, nominated for two categories by TGA in 2018 and four categories by SXSW Gaming Awards in 2019. The game won an award for “Excellent Narrative”.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
In June 2017, Ethan Winters, a civilian with unknown descendants, is lured into an abandoned plantation in Dulvey, Louisiana, through a message sent from his ex-wife Mia who mysteriously disappeared three years ago and is considered dead.
While exploring an abandoned house, Ethan finds Mia trapped in the basement, who later attacks him violently, pleading with him to kill her. Mysterious calls, visions, and creatures surround him as he goes on a journey of survival to create an antidote that can save Mia.
The game is a Capcom production from January 2017. It is not a sequel of the 5th or 6th games. However, it received its own sequel called “Resident Evil Village”, released in May 2021.
The PS VR version of the game was praised by the critics, became the third Resident Evil game to achieve international success, and got nominated for several end-of-year categories by the PS Awards and the PS VR Special Awards.

Mortal Kombat X
The 10th version brings the most prolific characters from the game, such as Scorpion and Sub-Zero, plus 36 new characters with outstanding power attacks.
It starts with the end of the previous game and does a time skip of 20 years in the future when Johnny Cage unites a combat team, including his daughter Cassie, Jax’s daughter Jacqui, Kenshi’s son Takashi Takeda and Kung Lao’s cousin Kung Jin.
All of them are trained by Sub-Zero before parting towards the Outworld to try to solve a civil war between Mileena and Kotal Kahn.
The game is a NetherRealm Studios production from April 2015, and just like the other Mortal Kombats, it was well-received by the critics according to Metacritic and commercial success. Mortal Kombat X also received an award for “Best Fighting Game” and other prizes by IGN, Game Informer, D.I.C.E, and TGA 2015.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
The three first Crash Bandicoot games remastered! Crash is an eastern barred bandicoot adventuring various levels and defeating numerous monsters, determined to stop Doctor Neo Cortex from taking over the world.
Crash Bandicoot was originally a Naughty Dog production and later was remastered into Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, produced by Vicarious Visions in 2017.
Popular and favorite amongst gamers, it was well-received by the critics, getting nominations for two categories by the Behind the Voice Actors Awards 2017 and two more categories by the NAVGTR Awards, winning a NAVGTR award for “Classic Revival”.
The Last Guardian
The game portraits an old man’s memories in the form of flashbacks, from when he met a giant creature named Trico when he was just a kid.
Mysteriously captured and brought to a big castle named “the Nest”, he wakes up to find tattoos all over his body and an imprisoned Trico, weak, chained up and unable to fly.
He then frees and feeds Trico, who is initially hostile towards him but comes to build a companionship. Together, they try to escape the castle.
The game is a production of SIE Japan Studio and genDesign in December 2016. The Last Guardian received positive reviews by the critics, getting many nominations and winning a few of them, including “Audio Achievement” by the BAFTA Video Game Awards.
