PS5 Release Date and SPECS leaked

PS5 Release Date: When can we expect it to be released? Console specs LEAKED.

The worst kept secret in the gaming industry is that the PS5 release date will be announced soon!

PS5 Release Date

Apparently, the console is coming sometime in 2020. It was initially reported to be coming in 2021 and there where even reports of it not launching until 2022! The lead system architect on the project, soft-revealed the new console back in April. Mark Cerny  let a couple of snippets worth of information out to the public. Such as a potentially impressive audio update. Cerny said “it’s been a little bit of a frustration that audio did not change too much between PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. With the next console the dream is to show how dramatically different the audio experience can be when we apply significant amounts of hardware horsepower to it.”

As he was with the PS4, Mark Cerny is the lead system architect for the coming console, his role of  integrating developers’ wishes and his own into something that’s so much more than it’s predecessor. There are more than 96 million PS4 consoles out in the wild and for these people who own PS4’s, that surely has to be music to their ears.

The PS5 specs may have been leaked ahead of the announcement about the consoles release date.

With the PS5 now with some developers, an increasing number of leaks have been shedding some light on the highly anticipated console. It’s worth mentioning that leaks should always be taken with a large pinch of salt. Some industry experts and insiders suggest that the PS5 will be incredibly powerful.

PS5 Release Date – Support for 8K Gaming

One thing that is known about the PS5 is that it will most certainly support 8K resolution. Another thing is that it will have much faster loading times thanks to an all new solid-stave drive (SSD). This should make loading times extremely fast.

In comparison, if we take the PS4 Pro, playing Spider-Man as an example, it can take upwards of 15 seconds to fast travel from one location to another. The PS5 will be able to load the same in less than a second! (If reports are to be believed)

Worlds can also be rendered at far greater speeds, which should inject more pace into games.

So what is the PS5 Release Date?

We don’t have anything concrete just yet. However Mark Cerny did also confirm that it’ll be sometime in 2020. We think this means that the PS5 will almost definitely be available before next Christmas. If we had to take a guess, we’d place our money on the PS5 Release Date being around November 2020.

Start putting some cash away now

So with the PS5 Release Date announcement almost upon us fans of the PlayStation may want to start putting some cash away now. Early suggestions from industry experts suggest it’s going to be around £100 / $100 more expensive than the previous generation. The extra cost won’t be of too much concern because if reports and leaks are true it’s going to be one hell of a console.
