Before you’re able to use the instructions above, you’ll need to unlock the flying ability. This is done by completing the Flying Class quest taught by Professor Kogawa. It’s offered relatively early in the game, so you won’t have to be footing it everywhere for long.
Some gamers have reported that they’ve reached level 13 without seeing the quest available. If this happens to you, keep plugging away and it’ll eventually be there for you to complete.
Once you’ve completed this quest, you can now purchase broomsticks from Hogsmeade. You can also unlock broomsticks by completing various challenges throughout the game. Upgrades are available for your broom via Hogsmeade.
Up, Up and Away: Flying Tip
Before you lift off, make sure that you’re in a flying zone. No-fly areas of the map are indicated by an icon on the bottom left of the HUD, right next to the minimap.
That’s pretty much it! You are now on your way to becoming a Quidditch champion (if only there was Quidditch in the game).
