So, if you want to get split screen set up in Fortnite you’ve come to the right place!

How To Split Screen In Fortnite

Fortnite Split Screen is available on the PS4 and Xbox One, and the good news is that Epic Games has made it really easy to use.

Once split screen is enabled you’ll be able to play the game in the comfort of your own home with your friends and family. Let’s just hope Epic games expand the split screen functionality to the PC or Nintendo Switch in the near future.

Split-screen makes it possible to share your TV screen with a friend while playing Duos and Squads.

You’ll have to share a screen, which gets split in half on the horizontal. Horizontally splitting the screen makes it look much better on bigger TV sets.

How to Turn on Split Screen:

To set up split screen mode in Fortnite, gamers will need to have two compatible controllers. And equally important, you will also need two Epic Games accounts.

Turning on split-screen in Fortnite is as simple as pressing one single button on the second players control pad.

Firstly, please make sure the second player (player 2) is signed into their account on whichever console you happen to be gaming on.

If your playing on a PS4 when you turn on the controller it’ll make you select a profile before allowing you to do anything else. For those of you playing on the Xbox One, press the Xbox button and go to the tab where you sign in.

Once the second player has sighned into their PSN or Xbox Live account, you’ll need to do the following:

PS4:
Using the second compatible controller press and hold the X button on PS4. This will add you to the game in Fornite.

XBOX ONE:
Using the second compatible controller press and Hold the A button on Xbox One. This will add you to the game in Fornite.

Once the second player has logged into their Epic Games account they’ll have access to all of their items such as skins, emots etc.

It’s worth noting that only Player 1 needs to have an Xbox Live Gold subscription if you’re playing on Xbox One. You don’t need to have a PS Plus subscription for Fornite on the PS4.

When you play Fornite in split-screen mode, you’ll only have access to play a few game modes. Only duos and squads are available in split-screen. SOLO’s aren’t available, for obvious reasons! And you can’t play Team Rumble or Creative either.
