We all know that Call Of Duty campaigns vary wildly in terms of difficulty. Play on hardened or veteran and you’ll eventually end up rage quitting or throwing your controller down. One such mission, called Countdown, caused me to do just that. It’s really hard and took me countless tries before I finally manged to do it.
How To Get A Blade In Countdown (Modern Warfare 2)
Toward the end of the Countdown mission you’re required to find a blade. This is so you’re able to take the enemies out that are wearing heavy protective armour. Once you’ve handled a few enemies you’ll be able to pick up and make use of their weapon.
Countdown is really difficult on anything higher than ‘Regular’ difficulty setting, so this how to guide should, I hope, come in super handy.
In order to successfully finish the mission you’ll need to slit Hassan’s throat. Obviously, to do this you’ll need to make use of a bladed weapon.
There are two ways to achieve the mission success. The first, is to find a blade in the traditional sense. Basically, you can find a box cutter, or if you’re in the UK a ‘stanley knife’.
There are two possible things players can do.
- Find the Box Cutter
- Craft a Glass Shank
One is to find a box cutter lying around in the room, the other requires players to craft a glass shiv or shank.
To get to the box cutter, you’ll need to remain undetected, sneaking around until you find the orange toolboxes. They’re scattered around the map on Countdown.
Open the orange toolboxes, which are dotted throughout the room. All of them have a box cutter / stanley knife inside. To open them, you’ll need to craft a pry tool. A pry tool is comprised of binding and scrap metal.
These two components are easily obtainable. You’ll find binding and metal in the office room in front of you. Just stay low and make use of the shadows and crawl under the sheet covered tables.
To craft a glass shiv in countdown in Modern Warfare 2, find binding and glass. The binding can be found in the front room. The easiest way to get the glass is to smash one of the buildings windows. You can distract enemies with a smoke bomb because smashing the windows is noisy, it’ll attract nearby enemies.
