If you have played last year’s FIFA 21 Ultimate Team, your chosen club name and start date will follow you into the new game. And, if you’re regretting selecting that god awful name, you’re in luck because not only can the club name be changed, the kit, badge and stadium can be updated too.
It’s a well known fact that a massive amount of cash and effort is pumped into gamers FIFA Ultimate Teams each and every year so it’s good to know that we can switch it up a bit if we start to become a bit bored with our team name. Or if it feels a bit stagnant compared to some of the more modern, humorous names that people are coming up with.

How To Change Your Club Name in FIFA 22
The first step is an obvious one, launch FIFA 22. Once your’re on the home screen go ahead and navigate to the Ultimate Team tab, click on it to open FUT. Keep an eye out for the “Objectives” tab and press X (For PS) or A (For XBOX). This will open up all of the tasks that you’ve been assigned.
You can use R1 (For PS) or RB (For XBOX) to scroll through the task list. Keep on the look out for one that’s called “The Basics”. Go into that section and click on the task that says “Change Club Name”. A page pop open to allow you to update your club name and also the three letter abbreviation you see in the top corner of the screen whilst playing in-game.
Before you proceed with renaming your FIFA Ultimate Team please bear in mind that you can only change it once. Whatever you decide to name your club is what will be set your Ultimate Team from thern on. Changing your FUT team name is assigned to you as an objective, you won’t be affected negatively for not completing it. If you are content with your current team name from last year then you might want to consider leaving it as it is.
The option to rename your FUT team is a welcome one but I feel you should be able to change it an unlimited amount of times. A good incentive to complete the task will be a reward of One-Hundred and Fifty Ultimate Team coins once you’ve renamed your team.
How To Rename Your FUT Team Summary:
- Launch FIFA 22.
- Navigate to FIFA Ultimate Team.
- Launch FIFA Ultimate Team.
- Find the ‘Objectives’ tab and press X or A (depending on gaming system).
- Find ‘The Basics’ section.
- Click on ‘Change Club Name’ task that has been assigned to you.
- Enter your chosen club name.
- Enter a 3 letter abbreviation for your club name.
