Hey G-Virus, welcome to the forum!

So you are off to a good start. Visual Studio is Microsoft's IDE (Integrated Developer Environment) . It's a fantastic tool but really very powerful and can be a bit of a steep learning curve for beginners. Depending on what you want to learn first I'd suggest trying out Visual Studio Code, it's a light weight code editor but has some powerful features! It's ideal for writing code that you don't have to compile, HTML or CSS for example!

If you wanted to stick with Visual Studio, We've written a few articles covering this topic:

Maybe start reading this one first:

I hope this helps!

PS. Introduce your self in the welcome forum 🙂

I agree with Mike, Visual Studio is a full featured development environment. Check out VSCode or something like Jetbrains Rider.

Rider is also fully featured but it performs better on lower end PC's.

Hey @G-virus

How are you getting on? Have you built anything yet? Share some of your practice projects and we'll try and give you some pointers.

Well done G-Virus, do you want to post some screenshots and code snippets? Perhaps we can give you some tips on improving your app?

The next thing for you to do is to keep making stuff, it doesn't have to be flawless but set your self a task or problem and try to solve it with C#

Hey thanks for the comments all.

I'm now working on a simple web app that helps me store my shopping list. Trying to build it using C# MVC and so far I have created basic layout, and now I'll start adding some actual functionality.

will create a 'showcase' thread when i've done it.
