How to start coding/programming?

I'm currently attending community college and I want to major in computer science to hopefully become a software engineer. The problem is I have no experience with coding. The only courses my schools have that is close to programming is CPT 102 (basic computer concepts) and CPT 114 (computers and programming). What is a good way I can learn coding/programming before I transfer since computer science is considered a hard degree program?

I think if you need to start from scratch it's going to be really tough. Check out a few 'how to learn to code' articles on the blog. That'll give you a good starting point.

You can get a basic concept of coding from freecodecamp.com.

It’s totally free and takes you though basic concepts all the way through to advanced coding topics and algorithms.

Personally I recommend watching some videos on YouTube. It's always more engaging for me than reading text.

Don't discount Books in your plan to learn how to code. You can find some real gems in thrift shops.

You'll be able to learn at your own pace. Also worth noting, languages that release new versions  ie: C# you'll need to keep up to date with the latest changes that come with the latest releases.

If you have any tech related support queries, send me a message or tag me in your threads.
