Final Fantasy 7 Remake Rumours and Leaks

According to TechRadar the Final Fantasy 7 Remake could require over 100GB of free space to install! Now that’s a lot, but totally understandable.

It may be time to delete some games from your hard drive but we don’t want to do that needlessly, the game has to be worth taking that drastic step.

The graphics on the original game where miles ahead of anything else back then. Today’s hardware could lead to even better looking games! And judging by the screenshots we’ve seen, that seems likely.

We can only hope that they are developing this remake with the PS5 at the forefront of their minds. This would make the size of the download make sense especially considering that it may go onto run on the next gen hardware.

An art cover for the physical edition of the game was leaked on Twitter. The image shows amongst other details, the game’s install size as being 100GB.

The developer Square Enix, has already confirmed the game will be spread over two Blu-ray discs, so that’s about 50GB per disc. So the 100gb leak seems accurate however Square Enix have yet to comment on the supposed leak.

Check out the leaked cover below:

Other notably large game downloads:

If the massive 100gb download size is correct, how does it compare to other games? Let’s take a look:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 175GB
  • Destiny 2 – 165GB
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 – 100GB+
  • Final Fantasy 7 Remake – 100GB
  • Final Fantasy XIV – 80GB+
  • Final Fantasy XV – 50GB+
  • The Witcher 3 – 50GB

So the Final Fantasy VII Remake is sandwiched between RDR2 and FFXIV. Not a bad place to be! We’ll update the article when we hear more news on the FF7 Release.
