The Best PC Games of 2019

See what you make of this list, I’ll probably revisit it at the start of 2020 to see if I still think these are the best games 2019 had to offer.

Red Dead Redemption 2

From the developers at Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption 2 has had blockbuster success on all platforms. However, we’re still waiting on that PC release date! GTA V fans had to wait over a year for a PC release date. You may then, be wondering why we’ve included it on our Best PC Games 2019 list. Well, we’re convinced we’ll atleast get a release date from Rockstar this year. What makes us so sure? We’ve heard of source code on Rockstar’s social club referencing “RDR2 PC Accomplishments”. This seems like it’s pretty much a confirmation.

Gears of War 5 (Perhaps the best game of 2019?)

A lot of times the terms long awaited or highly anticipated are thrown around far to much! That’s not the case with Gears of War 5. It’s the next instalment from one of gaming’s greatest sagas. Being released on September 10th 2019 with an all new multiplayer mode called ‘Escape’. Escape is a 3 player co-op game mode where you have to fight your way out of the middle of a hive.

This one really is highly anticipated!

Update: Find out where Gears of War 5 Ranks amongst the other Gears of War Games! Our best to worst article details it.

Apex Legends

Developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, Apex Legends was released on February 4th 2019. It’s a battle royale free to play game. This game is an absolute beast as it had amassed approximately 25 million players just one week after it’s release date and over 50 million in it’s first month. Critics love the game with most reviewers giving it plenty of accolades for game-play and the merging of different styles of game-play.

Far Cry New Dawn

Launched on February 15th 2019 Far Cry New Dawn has been developed by Ubisoft. The game is a spin-off sequel to Far Cry 5.

*Spoiler Below*

It’s set in the year 2035, after the nukes fell at the end of Far Cry 5 (FC5), called “the collapse” and is set in a nuclear waste ground.
It uses the same map as FC5 just slightly re-imagined. IGN gave the game a solid 7.5/10 with a review summary “…there’s still some good, chaotic fun to be had here.” Metacritic gave it a 73/100 on PC.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2020

From the Japanese powerhouse, Konami comes Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 (PES20). The latest instalment of the simulation game is the 19th in the PES series. It’ll be launched worldwide on September 10th 2019. A demo has already been released and according to several people who I know personally, the game feels a lot smoother than the previous games. It’s one to watch if you normally play FIFA. Maybe, just maybe you’ll be convinced to buy PES20 this year.

Will you be choosing Pro Evo over FIFA this year?

Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 is being developed by Quebec studios and Gearbox’s Texas. The initial release date looks set to be 13th September 2019. It’s a first person shooter that is heavily dependant on loot boxes. The game shares much of the same core with previous games around taking on missions, obtaining loot from fallen enemies special loot crates. According to the game developers CEO, it’s going to be “a lot bigger than past games” and that “Locations all vary. Some are bigger than past averages, some are smaller.” Alot of talk online suggests that we’ll see a gun you have to start like a lawnmower, a gun that, when thrown, turns into a bouncy bomb and probably best of all, a rocket launcher that fires hamburgers!
