To make things easier for you, we put together this list of the best Nintendo Switch games for kids so you don’t have to dig through the wide range that’s available. No matter what games your kids are playing, it’s important to keep them safe online.

If you’re looking for a puzzle game that kids are going to love, look no further than Snipperclips Plus. Players work together to find solutions to the puzzles based on shapes and physics, controlling characters which can be snipped into shape. This really gets kids using their brains but in a way that they find fun at the same time. Although the original Snipperclips game is great, Snipperclips Plus is the later-released expanded version which we highly recommend.

The entertaining gameplay keeps kids on their feet and teaches them cooperation at the same time. However, you should keep in mind that Snipperclips Plus is aimed for slightly older kids and the puzzles might be a bit too difficult for the little ones.

Minecraft is a brilliant introduction to open world games for Kids.

Minecraft has taken the world by storm and the Nintendo Switch is no exception. Kids love to express their creativity and there’s no better way than an open world to start an adventure in. Thrown into a 3D block world, players are free to explore, build structures, craft tools, mine resources, fight enemies and much, much more.

Perhaps the most exciting feature for kids would be the ability to build whatever structure they can imagine. Not to mention the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft even comes with Super Mario themed skins. As one of the all-round best Nintendo switch games for kids, Minecraft would be an excellent addition to any child’s Nintendo Switch library.

Learn the basics of Math with MathLand. A brilliant Switch game.

MathLand is a great Switch Game for Kids! Adults too. It’s an action-adventure game based around all things Maths. The great thing about it is that it adapts the difficulty level depending on your child’s age.

Your kids will need to recover the gems that have gone missing. But to do that they’ll need to complete some maths challenges. Along the way they’ll learn all of the basic math operators. Adding, Subtracting, Dividing etc.

We love this game and gave it a 9/10 in our recent review. It’s well worth picking up a copy to keep your child educated and entertained.

Animal Crossing New Horizons

Animal Crossings New Horizons makes a fantastic game for kids and adults. It’s was purely marketed towards children when they released the game but I think it works better if you play with your child rather than letting them game alone. It’s a perfect bonding game.

This game can really bring kids and there parents together more by giving them a game to play together. Kids can go it alone but depending on their reading ability may struggle to comprehend what’s going on. For example, the longest word in the game is “terraforming.” If your kid can read and understand that word, they’ll be fine to play solo.

I believe that playing the game with your child is the best way to do it. There are plenty of side quests to do, so you’ll have plenty of fun playing tag, shopping, decorating things and chopping down trees!
